Attachments not saving to Email records in D365

Posted on by 4
Hi All,

We have an issue with Email Attachments in D365. It's quite frequent, almost everyday and lasts for about an hour each time. During these periods we're unable to add attachments to email records, open existing attachments and incoming emails (from exchange into D365 queues) are being created but without all their attachments.

  • /The message was saved as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 email record, but not all the attachments could be saved with it. An attachment cannot be saved if it is blocked or if its file type is invalid./
This is the error when trying to add attachments to an email or forward an email from D365:

Has anyone had this issue before and/or have any ideas on how we can resolve it? I have ruled out file size and file type settings.

Thanks

Aman

    Hi Dengliang Li,

    Thanks for your response.

I should have mentioned that I've checked the blocked file extensions and the file size limit settings. The problem we're having is preventing standard file types which aren't blocked (pdf, jpeg etc.) and within the allowed size limit.

    Kind regards

    Aman

    Hi,

Please check the Set blocked file extensions for attachments option in the system settings.
File size limit and unsupported extensions (types) for attachments

The file types in this option are all invalid attachment types. You will get an error if you add these types of attachments or if you receive an email with these types of attachments.
