Item Journal Unique No. Series per Batch

Thanks in advance for any/all assistance.

USE CASE:
Create x4 Item Journal Batches to accommodate x4 unique Stock Count activities.
Have each Item Journal Batch create lines with unique Document Nos. per Batch Type

EG Stock-count Type A = Item Journal A w No Series unique to Item Journal Batch A w/ Document No series A00001-A99999 (repeat for B, C, D etc)
As a desired result of these requirements, the requirement is to see Item Journal lines within each unique batch for stock counts reflect unique Types of Stock count within the Document No's.

FAILED SETUP ATTEMPTS DETAILS:
I've created x4 unique No. Series to reflect A,B,C,D per the above.
I've Setup x4 Unique Item Journal Batches and have specified at the batch level the No Series to use Batch A=No Series A etc.
Upon entering a new line within the batch, there's just the red asterisk and no value from my specified no series for the batch!?!

I've also attempted to create a No Series relationship for the default IJN-GEN Series to my x4 new No Series in the event that would allow data entre at the Item Journal Batch Line level to specify which no series to use to no avail either.
I'll keep poking at this as it;s my understanding you CAN achieve this requirement within Item Journals but would relish feedback to prevent going down rabbit-holes!

Cheers~Peter

    Ok, figured it out. #imslowatlearningitseems

    I'd messed up dates.
My Work Date was next month
My No Series starting date was current day
After removing work date and setting no series starting date to be 1/1/2020 (waaaay back just to be sure it worked), it then worked
    BUT
It needed all existing Journal Batch lines to be deleted before it would automatically showed a value as expected from the specified No Series on the Batch line Document No. field.

@Valentin Castravet thank you for attempting to assist me here, your efforts are very much appreciated :)

If I leave the line empty with the red asterisk asking for a value, and then select to Renumber Doc Numbers it does nothing.

If i manually type-in a fake value in the Document No. field and try the same process it removes the fake value and returns me to the same red asterisk and blank value situation :(

Does anything happen if you select Renumber Document Numbers?

Valentin Castravet, thanks for confirming that this SHOULD work.

Here's my x4 NEW No. Series (along with the default one called IJNl-GEN)

Here's my Item Journal Batches with each new unique No Series defined.

Here's the outcome when attempting it use EG Item Journal Batch "COUNT" and add lines (where I expect to see the no series automatic value from the defined no series)

    What am I missing here?

    Cheers~Peter

Yes it should absolutely work. In the Item Journal Batches Page, did you populate the No. Series Column?

And do your new number series have a value in the Starting No. field?

The above setup works for me to have different number series for different batches.
