We have successfully installed the Managament Reporter 2012 and have imported the default building blocks. When we connect to "TWO" the Fabrikam Database and execute/ generate any of the reports, the system comes with message "This report Contains no Data". We have the reporting period, building block choices in the drop down etc but still NO data. However, we can query all the data thru management studio directly from the "TWO" database.
Please help us with what must be done to get the sample reports working? The connection is successful, the privileges for accounts/logins are valid. Unable to understand as to why no data? More puzzling is the fact, the reports available under "PUBLIC" folder in the report viewer is showing data for the "TWO" - Fabrikam company.
Secondly, when we go thru the training material the example deals with report definitions like "IS_ROLLQtr" that is NOT available for download. Where can I download those report defintions from? Are there separate training materials available for management reporter 2012 Rollup 2 that we are in.
Any help with the above 2 issues will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
SriniS
MR will default to dates in the current calendar year but the Fabrikam company is in April 2017; have you made sure the dates used in MR are 2017?
I'm only aware of one set of sample reports for MR which it sounds like you have loaded.
Yes, we have changed the dates to 2011 thru 2017 and still it does not give us any report.
If the report definitions reported on the training material is not available, how can one do self training?
It is so messy. Wish someone from GP / Microsoft addressed this issue.
Anyway, Thanks for your prompt reply. I appreciate your response.
Hello SriniS,
I'm not sure if you have this issue any more but if you are still looking for an answer, the issue is most likely within the reports themselves. Try opening up a Report definition and taking a look at the Row definition. Most likely the link to Financial Dimensions is missing the information. If it's the sample reports that you want to run against the Fabrikam Sample company, Go into GP and change the segments to be Segment1, Segment2, and Segment3.
(Microsoft Dynamics > Tools > Setup > Company > Account Format)
Here is a good reference article to take a look at:
mustafachohan.blogspot.com/.../installing-fabrikam-reports-in.html
Hope that helps!
Hi Brady,
Rather than changing to Segment1 and so on you're better following these blog posts and fixing the sample reports so they work with the segments as named:

Thanks for your suggestion.
Ian:
Thanks for your suggestion. Finally, I am seeing some response to this query. Happy about that. I will try your suggestions and revert back.
Your solution has addressed the first problem stated in the thread - namely of fixing the sample reports to show data from the TWO [Fabrikam] company. Thanks for addressing it.
However, the second part my issue - namely the reports mentioned in the training material is missing.. Or are there any new training material created with these sample reports as an example.
Please let me know.
Thanks Again.
Hi SriniS,
I'm glad more people are responding to your issue. I'm not sure if I fully understand your second issue but the reports for the training are located here (Link is located at the bottom of the page):
mbs.microsoft.com/.../msdygp_mr_createdemocompany.htm Reporter sample
And if you don't have the training materials already or want to make sure you have the most current version, use this link:
mbs.microsoft.com/.../course80255.htm
Hope that helps.
