Firstly, I only have Dynamics 365 and do not have Sharepoint or Word for Business access (this is on a different tenancy)
I have a word template uploaded to the document templates. I want to use power automate to create a word document from an entity using this file and add it to the timeline. I can create a note, but how to I add or create my word document and add this to the timeline.
I can see how to do this in the classic workflow with SetWordTemplate but this doesnt work in Power Automate.
You mean that you do not have Sharepoint or Word for Business access.
So you can create a custom Action that contains the SetWordTemplate as you have shown. Once created you can call it from the Perform Bound Action step within a Flow.
Invoke D365 OTB word templates from Power Automate – MG (wordpress.com)
Currently, the “SetWordTemplate” action is not available in Power Automate Flow, so you need to use classic workflow to use this action.
