What’s happening?

When replying to an incoming email, the sender defaults to the current user's email address. The requirement is to automatically set the sender of the reply email to be the recipient of the previous email.

Reason:

This behavior is a current product limitation in Dynamics 365.

Resolution:

Currently, there is no out-of-the-box (OOB) functionality available in Dynamics 365 to automatically set the sender of a reply email to be the recipient of the previous email. This is recognized as a product limitation.

To address this limitation, users can consider the following options:

  1. Customization: Users may customize the system to achieve this functionality according to their specific requirements.

  2. Enable "Allow Other users to Send email on your behalf":

  3. Navigate to personal settings.
  4. Select "Email".
  5. Enable the option "Allow Other users to Send email on your behalf".

For detailed instructions, refer to the official documentation: Send email on another user's behalf - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn.

  1. Alternatively, users can submit feedback or vote for this feature request on the Dynamics Ideas forum to inform the product team about this requirement. The product team reviews these ideas and implements them based on the highest number of votes received.
