What's happening?

When attempting to install the Dynamics 365 Sales App from Microsoft App Source, the installation initially shows as "installing," but upon refreshing, the app disappears from the list of Dynamics 365 Apps.

Reason:

This occurs because the environment used for installation is a Common Data Service (CDS) environment, which does not support Dynamics 365 Sales-related apps. Additionally, insufficient database capacity (less than the required 1 GB) prevents the creation of a new environment with a database.

Resolution:

To resolve this, follow these steps:

  1. Verify the type of environment currently in use. If it is a CDS (Common Data Service) environment, Dynamics 365 Sales-related apps will not be available.
  2. Create a new Dynamics 365 environment with a database and ensure the Dynamics 365 apps option is enabled. Select the required Dynamics 365 apps during the environment creation process.
  3. Ensure that there is at least 1 GB of available database capacity, as this is the minimum requirement to create an environment with a database.
  4. After successfully creating the new environment with the database and enabling Dynamics 365 apps, install the Dynamics 365 Sales App.
  5. Assign the necessary users to the new environment and provide them with appropriate security roles to access the Sales App.
