What’s happening?
The customer is unable to find the data export option while setting up Application Insights for log analytics and observability in a new environment.
Reason:
The data export feature is only supported for managed environments. Users need to convert their environment from unmanaged to managed to enable this feature, and they also require premium licenses.
Resolution:
- Confirm that the environment is set to managed. If it is unmanaged, convert it to managed to enable premium capabilities and features.
- Ensure that the user has one of the required roles: Power Platform admin, Dynamics 365 admin, or Microsoft 365 Global admin.
- Note that there is currently no automatic process to schedule data exports; users must manually schedule the data export.
