What's happening?
Users are unable to delete projects and surveys in Dynamics 365 Customer Voice that are owned by a user who is no longer active or has left the organization.
Reason:
This occurs because the original owner of the projects and surveys has been disabled or is no longer part of the organization. Projects and surveys created by an inactive or disabled user cannot be directly deleted by other users, even if the projects were previously shared with them.
Resolution:
To resolve this, you have two options:
Wait for Automatic Deletion:
After disabling the user, wait for 30 days. After this period, all projects and surveys created by the disabled user will be automatically deleted. Note that once automatically deleted, restoration of these projects will not be possible.Manual Deletion by Re-enabling User:
- Re-enable the inactive user's account.
- Change the user's password.
- Log in using the re-enabled account.
- Manually delete the unwanted projects and surveys.
For projects you wish to retain, create a copy of each project. This action will copy all project details except for the responses, which will remain stored in CRM.
Best Practice Recommendation:
As a best practice, it is recommended to use a service account rather than individual user accounts for creating new projects. This approach ensures greater security and continuity in case of changes or issues with individual user accounts.
