What’s happening?
The customer has activated a new subscription calculation and requires confirmation that the new calculation is considered active. There is also a query regarding whether a case needs to be created for the update in the UAT environment.
Reason:
The subscription estimator tool is designed to automatically calculate resources for the production environment based on licensing and transaction numbers. However, this automatic calculation does not exist for UAT environments.
Resolution:
- The subscription estimator in Lifecycle Services (LCS) will trigger a calculation for the production environment once implemented or during the creation phase with the fast track team, provided all prerequisites for production implementation are met.
- The resource sizing for the production environment (multi-box) is an automatic calculation that correlates with the number of licenses and transactions.
- For UAT environments, since the automatic calculation does not occur, consider acquiring add-ons for a more robust testing environment. Information on add-ons can be found in the documentation for environment planning in Finance & Operations.
