What’s happening?
During a point-in-time restore (PITR) from the production database, document attachments are not included in the restoration process.

Reason:
The underlying cause is that deleted files are permanently removed from blob storage, making it impossible to retrieve removed attachment files. Additionally, while there is an option to copy document attachments during a database refresh, this functionality is not available during a PITR.

Resolution:

  • It is confirmed that document attachments cannot be included in a PITR as they are not copied over during this process.
  • The option to copy document attachments is available only during a database refresh, which moves physical files from one blob to another blob.
  • If document attachments have been deleted, they cannot be retrieved from the production historical data or blob storage.
