What’s happening?
Customers are unable to "Attach to Process" in the debug menu, with the relevant processes not showing (e.g., W3Wp.exe or IISexpress.exe). Additionally, an error is found in the event viewer stating that the "worker process failed to initiate correctly."
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to missing installation components or extensions required for Visual Studio 2022.
Resolution:
- Customers are requested to cross-check and confirm that the necessary extensions are installed from the Visual Studio 2022 Setup file in their virtual machine (VM).
- After confirming and installing the required extensions, the issue was resolved, allowing the customer to successfully attach to the process in the debug menu.
