What’s happening?
Got an error when trying to get the code to apply a subscription tag.
Reason:
The error seems to be due to a 500 HTTP response to the deployment service request. In a previous similar case, a customer subscription had a policy that restricted the deployment service API.
Resolution:
- Ensure that the user has a role in the subscription and is a subscription user.
- Retry the option to "get a code."
- If the issue persists, capture a network trace of the process when clicking the "get a code" button using developer tools.
- Compare the current subscription with another subscription that worked previously to identify any differences in policies or settings.
- Check the Azure portal for any application policies that may restrict the deployment service API.
