What’s happening?
The customer is experiencing issues with the Production Floor Execution module where journals are posted directly without approval when the automatic posting parameter is enabled. Conversely, when this parameter is disabled, journals do not post even after the approval process is completed.

Reason:
The underlying cause of this is that the Time and Attendance Workflow does not trigger journal postings. The approval step in the workflow is only for review and does not result in posting. The Transfer step is required to create the journal entries.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure that the "Post Automatically" parameter is toggled to "Yes" if you want journals to be created automatically.
  2. After the worker registers time, the supervisor must calculate and approve the time entries.
  3. The Transfer step must be executed to create the journal entries. This step is crucial as it posts the approved registrations and reverses any initial worker registrations.
  4. If the "Post Automatically" parameter is turned off, manual posting will be required after the approval process.
  5. If the Approve and Transfer buttons are greyed out, verify that the workflow is correctly set up and that there are no customizations affecting the process.
  6. For further assistance, refer to the documentation on approving registrations using the workflow and the time and attendance registration overview provided by Microsoft.
