What’s happening?
The customer is unable to update the IOM solution for their environment, receiving an error message indicating that a specific component cannot be deleted because it is referenced by other components.
Reason:
The failure to update the IOM solution is due to the presence of dependencies on existing components that are not included in the upgraded solution. This situation typically arises when there are customizations in place.
Resolution:
- Validate if the write-in product is enabled in Dynamics 365:
- Access the Admin Interface: Log in to the Dynamics 365 Admin interface.
- Navigate to the Settings: Go to the settings section where you can configure product options, typically found under "Product Catalog" or "Product Management."
- Check the Write-in Product Option: Look for the option labeled "Use Write-in Product in Intelligent Order Management" or a similar setting.
- If the update fails again, perform the following steps:
- Log in to the secure workspace and download the necessary cab files.
- Import the IOMApplication_managed.cab file using the 'Upgrade' option.
- After importing the IOMApplication cab file, import the IOMOrderCore_managed.cab file with the 'Upgrade' option.
- Retry updating the IOM solution.
- If issues persist after following these steps, consider raising a new support request for further assistance.
