What’s happening?
The customer is seeking assistance with uploading minimum and maximum stock levels for all items, specifically regarding safety stock in a Dynamics 365 environment.
Reason:
The customer requires guidance on how to set the minimum and maximum stock levels for all items in the system.
Resolution:
To set the minimum and maximum stock levels (safety stock) for all items in Dynamics 365, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Released Products:
- Go to Product information management > Products > Released products.
- Select the relevant product from the grid.
- Set Stock Level:
- On the Action Pane, go to the Plan tab and select Item coverage.
- On the Overview tab, click New to add a line to the grid.
- Specify the relevant product dimensions (e.g., Site, etc.).
- In the Minimum field, enter the safety stock value. This value is expressed in inventory units and ensures the system generates planned orders to prevent inventory from falling below this limit.
- Use Minimum/Maximum Keys:
- To adjust safety stock levels by seasonality, go to Master planning > Setup > Coverage > Minimum/maximum keys.
- Set the Minimum key field on the General tab of the Item coverage page.
- Set Up Min-Max Replenishment Process:
- Go to Warehouse management > Setup > Location directives.
- Create a new location directive for replenishment, specifying the minimum and maximum levels.
