What’s happening?
Production order rescheduling is impacted by the configuration of the phantom item operation route group, leading to unexpected delivery dates for sub-production items.

Reason:
The phantom level utilizes a route group that avoids scheduling and costing configuration. This results in different behaviors during the rescheduling of production orders, particularly when the phantom item route group is set up in a specific manner.

Resolution:

  1. Navigate to Production control | Setup | Routes | Route groups and create a new route group.
  2. Unmark all options in the setup area and save the record.
  3. Create the raw material and sub-assembly products, ensuring they are set up correctly in the system.
  4. Create the phantom item and ensure it is configured with the appropriate BOM and route settings.
  5. When scheduling production orders, ensure the scheduling direction is set correctly (e.g., Backward from scheduling date).
  6. Review the delivery dates on the production orders for the affected items to ensure they align with the expected outcomes.
  7. If discrepancies occur, verify the route group settings and the scheduling configurations to ensure they are correctly applied.
If the issue persists, further investigation may be required to identify specific deviations in the setup or configuration.
