What’s happening?
Sales order confirmation does not maintain the historical delivery date for items. When multiple sales order lines are created with different requested ship dates, the confirmation journal may incorrectly display the latest delivery date instead of retaining the original dates.
Reason:
This may be related to the system behavior when updating the Requested Ship Date. Specifically, if the Requested Ship Date is adjusted at the header level, it can supersede the individual line dates, leading to incorrect display in the confirmation journal. Customization in the system may also contribute to this behavior.
Resolution:
- To specify the Requested Ship Date for each sales line, adjust the date from the line details and then confirm the sale order. Do not modify the header if individual line dates are to be retained.
- If the header is updated, it will apply the Requested Ship Date change to all lines belonging to that sale order, which may lead to the loss of previously set dates.
- Ensure that the "Update Ship and Receipt dates" parameter is turned off to prevent the system from applying changes to all lines based on header adjustments.
- If the issue persists after following these steps, further investigation may be required, including checking for any external customizations affecting the sales order processing.
