What’s happening?
The Container Content Report is not displaying data for certain container numbers when accessed through the container close process or the direct print option. This issue occurs specifically for users with standard warehouse-related roles, such as Shipping Clerk, Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Planner, and Warehouse Worker. When the user is assigned a System Administrator role, the report functions correctly. The problem is intermittent, affecting only a subset of containers, despite identical container statuses, shipment statuses, warehouse locations, container types, and packing policies.

Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to the security roles assigned to the users. It appears that certain custom roles may lack the necessary permissions to generate the report, leading to empty entries for some containers.

Resolution:

  1. Role Inspection: Review the custom roles assigned to the users experiencing this. Ensure that the roles include all necessary permissions for generating the Container Content Report.
  2. Testing with Standard Roles: Create a new test user in the production environment with standard roles, duties, and privileges to confirm if the issue can be replicated.
  3. Task Recording: Instruct the customer’s system administrator to perform a business process task recording while the affected user attempts to print the Container Content Report. This can help identify any missing permissions.
  4. Security Diagnostics: Utilize the Security Diagnostic tool for task recordings to analyze and manage security permission requirements based on the task recording. This tool will suggest any missing permissions for the user ID in question.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, further investigation may be required to identify any additional factors contributing to the problem.
