What’s happening?
Users are unable to retrieve historical sales data from the Demand Planning app, resulting in blank data being displayed despite having old, invoiced sales orders.
Reason:
This arises because the current data entity for historical sales data is built based on sales order packing slip journals. However, the sales orders in question were directly invoiced as part of the commerce statement posting process, which prevents the data entity from picking up this historical data.
Resolution:
- Users are advised to consider using other data entities for sales order lines.
- Alternatively, users can create a custom data entity to load historical data based on directly invoiced sales orders.
- It is noted that enhancements to the product may be introduced in future releases to allow for the loading of directly invoiced sales orders as historical sales data for the Demand Planning app.
