What’s happening?
The customer inquired whether it is necessary to upgrade the dual write packages in their production environment by a specific date.


Reason:
The updates for dual-write solutions in the Power Platform Admin are not forced for the customer's environment unless they have an automated custom logic enabled for updating those solutions.


Resolution:

  • The customer can postpone the updates for the dual-write solutions in Power Platform Admin as the updates are not mandatory for their environment.
  • Updates in the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC) will not occur unless the customer manually applies them. To check for pending updates, follow these steps:
  • Navigate to PPAC.
  • Go to Environments.
  • Search for the specific environment being used and select it.
  • From Resources, choose Dynamics 365 apps.
  • Filter with the used dual-write solutions to see if there are any pending updates.
  • The updates for these solutions are not enforced at any specific timeframe unless the customer has enabled automated custom logic for updates.
