What’s happening?
Loss of the Requested Ship Date and Requested Receipt Date when converting the journal into a sales order if the "Delivery date control" parameter is set to anything other than None.

Reason:
The behavior is intended as the system recalculates everything when changing the order type from journal to sales order. This is because it generates inventory transactions when the order type is set to sales order, whereas no inventory transactions are created when the order type is set as Journal.

Resolution:

  1. Deploy a testing environment (e.g., 10.0.31 or 10.0.42) and replicate the scenario.
  2. Confirm that the behavior is consistent across different environments, indicating it is by design.
  3. If the order type is set as Journal, the requested ship date and receipt date will change upon conversion to a sales order due to the recalculation process.
  4. If the desired behavior is to maintain the original dates, consider posting an idea on the ideas portal for potential changes to the system's functionality.
