What’s happening?
There is an error in duration calculation from the start date to the end date of a task in the WBS tab in D365 Project Operations.


Reason:
Possible causes include:

  • The duration and start/finish dates can appear out of sync due to discrepancies in working hours between the project calendar and the resource calendar. 
  • The project calendar may have different working hours than those set in the resource calendar, leading to incorrect duration calculations.

Resolution:
  • Ensure that the working hours in the project calendar and the resource calendar are consistent.
  • If discrepancies in working hours are found, update the working hours accordingly and verify the calculations again.
  • Adjust the settings for Project task time tracking and Project actual value tracking to "Real-time update."
