What’s happening?
The subscription billing system is not functioning as expected in relation to product variant items. Specifically, the product dimensions field is not marked as required when creating new subscription billing lines, and the item description displayed is sourced from the product master instead of the correct product variant.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to a known issue in the subscription billing schedule that affect how product variant items are processed.
Resolution:
This has been fixed in D365 Finance version 10.0.42. Further details at Details for issue 955807
