What’s happening?
Is it possible to convert projects in Project Operations as a background process after upgrading from Project Service Operations?
Reason:
Converting projects programmatically or by using batch conversion is discouraged due to potential impacts on system performance and user experience. Currently, project conversion is only supported on individual projects through manual processes.
Resolution:
- It is strongly recommended to convert projects one by one within the Project Operations UI.
- Programmatic conversion is discouraged; however, if this is pursued, ensure that only one project is being converted at a time and that there are no parallel project conversion requests.
- The environment must not be in Administration mode, and Background operations must be enabled for project conversion.
- If issues arise during conversion, review error logs related to the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS):
- Error logs for a specific project can be viewed by opening the project and browsing to Related PSS Error Logs.
- Complete error logs can be found at Settings > PSS Error Logs in the Project Operations app.
