What’s happening?
No items are appearing in the Resource drop-down on the Hour journals screen for certain users, while other environments show a full list of resources.
Reason:
This is related to the Validation group setup/configuration that was upgraded to the current environment from a previous version. This configuration is responsible for the resources not showing in the dropdown.
Resolution:
- Verify the Validation Group settings in the Project management and accounting parameters if they are defined as customer required. Mandatory and Lookup options will show values according to assignments and validations groups.
- Ensure that the appropriate Project/category, Resource/project and Category/ resource validation groups are configured to allow specific Project IDs, Resources and Categories from Project management and accounting> Setup> Validation.
- Additionally check assignments defined in individual projects and resources by going to Project list> Plan tab> Validation group or Resources list> Project resource tab> Maintain group. Modify them if needed and you do not want to change validation groups.
