Applies to Product -Dynamics 365 Project Operations

What’s happening?
The integration between MS Project and Dynamics 365 is not functioning as expected, particularly after the update to version 10.0.40. Users report that the integration fails to operate, with no error messages displayed when attempting to use the functionality.

Reason:
The underlying cause of this appears to be related to the deprecation of the integration functionality for the Stocked Scenario. The plugin is using outdated services and code that are no longer compatible with the latest version of Project Operations.

Resolution:

  1. Verify that the default language for both Dynamics 365 and MS Project is set to English, and ensure that any additional language packs are installed.
  2. Confirm that the integration is being attempted using the correct deployment type (Stocked, NonStocked, or Lite).
  3. For users experiencing issues, recommend transitioning to the web client for functionalities that are still supported, as most features from the MS Project client are now embedded in the standard product.
  4. After January 2025, support for the current integration is discontinued, and they should prepare for alternative solutions. More details in Microsoft Project client integration | Microsoft Learn
