What’s happening?
Incorrect renumbering of document numbers in journals, where selecting the option to renumber document numbers results in unique document numbers for each line instead of the same number for the general ledger and vendor lines, preventing the journal from balancing.


 Reason:
The "Renumber" feature has been removed from the base application in version 25. It is now available through the Business Foundation extension. To access the "Renumber" functionality, the Business Foundation extension must be installed and published in the Business Central environment.


Resolution:

  1. Ensure that the Business Foundation extension is installed and published in your Business Central environment.
  2. When renumbering document numbers, ensure that the lines are sorted correctly. The recommended order is:
  3. Vendor
  4. G/L Account
  5. Remove the document number before renumbering to ensure that the same document number is created for each line so that the journal balances.
