Applies to Product - Dynamics 365 Business Central

What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing difficulties accessing reports and virtual tables in Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dataverse. Specific issues include errors when filtering fields and authentication failures when trying to display reports.

Reason:

  • Users may not have the necessary Business Central (BC) license to access virtual tables in Dataverse.
  • Errors may occur when filtering custom fields in reports, particularly when using custom tables and fields.
  • An outage or issue with Power BI integration in Business Central may lead to authentication errors.
Resolution:
  • Confirm that users have the appropriate Business Central license assigned to access virtual tables.
  • For filtering issues, advise users to check the filters applied and consider removing them to see if the issue persists.
  • If users encounter authentication errors with Power BI, recommend accessing the report directly on the Power BI website as a temporary workaround while the issue is being resolved.
  • If the issue continues, escalate to the internal product team for further investigation regarding any limitations or timeouts related to custom fields and tables.
