What’s happening?
Encountering a "Something went wrong" error when accessing Dynamics 365 environments despite having the correct roles and authentication. This issue has been reported by multiple customers, indicating a potential widespread problem.


Reason:
This appears to be related to an internal problem with the authentication web service, particularly affecting users who received GDAP access after a specific date. It has been noted that while some users can access the environments, others cannot, despite having the same roles and permissions.


Resolution:

  • Ensure that the Global Admin has allowed access for GDAP users to the specific environments. This is strict per environment, so it is necessary to verify that access is granted for each environment needed.
  • Review the GDAP relationship to confirm that it is active and correctly configured with the necessary security groups.
  • If the issue persists, it may require further investigation by the respective workload team, as it is outside the scope of standard support. A hotfix has been released to mitigate the unexpected behavior, and it is advised to check for updates on the status of this fix.
