What’s happening?
Users are able to alter settings in the general edger setup, specifically regarding the allow posting dates, which should be restricted to certain users only.
Reason:
Attempts to make the User Setup Table Data 91 and User Settings 9172 read-only, as well as amendments to permission sets and the creation of an exclude permission, have not been successful in restricting access.
Resolution:
- Create a user-defined permission set that copies the necessary basic permissions.
- Explicitly exclude Table Data 91 (User Setup Page) from the user-defined permission set to prevent users from accessing the user setup page and editing posting dates.
- Confirm that the changes made to the permission sets are correctly applied and test with a user who does not have super permissions to ensure they cannot edit the posting dates.
