What’s happening?
In Dynamics 365 Business Central, the "New Fiscal Year" has been marked as "True" for each month in a closed fiscal year, preventing the user from unchecking it without encountering an error.
 

Reason:
Once a fiscal year is closed, it cannot be reopened. This behavior is by design in the system.
 

Resolution:

  • Confirm that the fiscal year has been closed and is marked as "Closed = True" and "Date Locked = True."
  • Inform the user that they cannot uncheck the "New Fiscal Year" option for the months in the closed fiscal year.
  • Recommend that the user consider writing an extension to force open the fiscal year if necessary.
