Applies to Product – Dynamics 365 Business Central

What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues related to the installation of runtime versions that are incompatible with their current Business Central (BC) versions. This includes warnings about runtime reference versions when attempting to load custom or third-party extensions.

Reason:
The incompatibility warnings are triggered when a referenced module with a runtime reference version cannot be loaded by the compiler due to version mismatches. Specifically, modules with runtime reference version '16.0' cannot be loaded by the compiler with version '15.0'.

Resolution:

  1. For runtime installation issues, it has been confirmed that the product team is actively working on a fix for the identified bug in the current environments. Customers are advised to upgrade to the next version once it is available.
  2. If customers receive incompatibility warnings, they should verify the runtime reference versions of their custom or third-party extensions and ensure they align with the version of Business Central they are using. If the warnings persist, further action may be required from Microsoft to address the issue.
