What’s happening?

Customers are experiencing issues with exporting numbers from Business Central, specifically in the Hungarian localized environment. When numbers are copied and pasted into Excel, they appear in an incorrect format, showing spaces instead of commas as thousand separators. This does not occur when using the "Edit in Excel" functionality.

 Reason:
This is by design; Business Central follows its own regional settings rather than those of the operating system or Excel. In the Hungarian region, the default thousands separator is a space, which can lead to incorrect formatting when pasted into Excel.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure that the regional settings in Business Central align with those in Excel and the operating system.
  2. If a different thousands separator is preferred, adjust the regional settings accordingly.
  3. For guidance on changing regional settings, refer to the following documentation:
  4. Change Windows Regional Settings
  5. Change Regional Format Settings in Excel
