What’s happening?
The Planning Worksheet process is not considering the order multiplier, particularly when an Emergency Warning message is present, and the due date is below the starting date in the planning worksheet parameters.
Reason:
If the "Respect Planning Parameters" option is checked when running the Calculate Plan function, but the system still does not follow the Order Multiple parameter, this behavior is expected according to the official documentation.
Resolution:
- For stock fulfillment, the default behavior for planning purchase orders is to follow the start date specified in the planning worksheet parameters. If planning purchase orders based on the first supply date according to demand (forecast/sales) is required, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Planning Worksheet.
- Use the Calculate Plan function to generate planning suggestions.
- In the Calculate Plan options, set the Starting Date and Ending Date to cover the desired planning period.
- Ensure that the Include Forecast option is selected to consider forecasted demand.
- After running the Calculate Plan function, review the suggested orders and manually adjust the Order Date and Due Date fields for each suggested order to align with the first supply date based on demand.
- If there is a demand for several items with the same routing and demand date, and all ending date times are the same, this does not follow the load capacity of the work center. To address this, it is recommended to create a separate ticket for issues related to work center load capacity.
- To inform expected quantity for each finished good or semi-finished good after running the planning worksheet, you can try using report 705 - Inventory Availability.
