What’s happening?
Inquiry as to whether the "Posting Description" field, added to the header section of the Purchase Invoice window, can be included in the postings to the general ledger, as it currently does not appear in the relevant table.
Reason:
The "Posting Description" field is available on the Purchase Invoice window but is not available on the General Ledger Entries window.
Resolution:
- It was verified that the "Posting Description" flows correctly to the Description field in the general ledger.
- Currently, Business Central does not have two separate fields for these descriptions on the general ledger entries.
- If the customer wishes to keep both the original description details and the posting description in the general ledger entries, it is suggested to include a "/" in the posting description field. This will ensure that both pieces of information flow into the general ledger entries without losing any details.
