What’s happening?
Encountering an error message when attempting to create a task of type "Meeting," stating, "You cannot create a task of type Meeting because you're not using an on-premises deployment."


Reason:
This limitation is specific to the SaaS version of Dynamics 365 Business Central due to the use of .NET-based Outlook Client integration components, which are not supported in SaaS environments.


Resolution:

  1. Verify if the environment is a SaaS version. If it is, understand that the creation of "Meeting" type tasks is not supported.
  2. If using a SaaS version, consider checking for any third-party extensions that may be impacting the environment. Remove any third-party extensions and test the scenario again.
