What’s happening?
The exchange rate uploaded from the European Central Bank is displayed incorrectly when calculating the adjusted exchange rate, as it uses the exchange rate of the previous day from the posting date. This can create ambiguity with different exchange rates for the same day.

Reason:
The underlying cause of this is that the European Central Bank's exchange rate service updates its rates daily at 16:00 CET. The API used by the system generates the exact information present on the European Central Bank's website, which may not reflect the current day's rates immediately after the update.

Resolution:

  • During the support interaction, it was explained that the exchange rate service used posts the value of the day before the posting date.
  • It was suggested to use the "Floatrates" exchange rate service, which updates the prices earlier in the day.
  • It was clarified that using an extension to change the date on the currency exchange could lead to irreversible issues and is not recommended.
  • The reason for the change in exchange rate when posting a combined shipment is due to the update of the currency exchange rate at the time of posting, making the current day's rate available.
