What’s happening?
Customers are unable to select the desired posting date when settling VAT in Dynamics 365 Business Central, specifically for group VAT settlements. The system defaults to the current working date instead of allowing the user to choose a date corresponding to the quarter-end date of the VAT return.
 
Reason:
The group VAT settlement process in Dynamics 365 Business Central is designed to always use the current working date for posting, regardless of the date selected by the user during the representative VAT posting.
 
Resolution:
To resolve this of the posting date defaulting to the current working date, follow these steps:
1. Change the working date in the settings to the desired date before posting the group VAT.
2. After posting the group VAT, you can revert the working date back to the current date.
This adjustment allows the group posting date to reflect the desired date used in the representative VAT posting.
