What’s happening?
Does a Security Group Team only provide a user access to one environment? Can Microsoft Entra Security Group sync as a Security Group Team to many environments?
Reason:
It is not possible to link teams that are set up in different environments.
Resolution:
- A Microsoft Entra Security Group can be used to control user access to multiple environments by establishing this Entra security group to sync to separate teams across these different environments.
- Alternatively Administrators can create separate Microsoft Entra groups for each environment and assign the appropriate security roles to these groups. This allows only the members of the specific Microsoft Entra group team to have access rights to the corresponding environment.
