Applies to Product: Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Data
What’s happening?
Data Source tables from Dataverse are not showing up in the Segment Builder of Customer Insights-Data.
Reason:
When creating a rule in the Segment Builder that uses a table other than the Unified Customer table, the system requires a relationship path to connect that table to the unified customer profile. If this path is not explicitly set, or if no valid path exists, the Segment Builder cannot determine how a table relates to customer data. As a result, the table and its attributes will not be shown in the rule-building interface.
This typically occurs when:
- The relationship path was not manually set, and the system could not auto-select one.
- No defined relationship exists between the other table and the Unified Customer table.
- The user is unaware that a separate relationship path needs to be established per rule when using different source tables.
- Create a new relationship between the table and the Customer's profile: create-a-custom-relationship
- Alternatively, if a table is used in the data unification process in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, and it is involved in mapping to the unified customer profile (through the unification step), then Customer Insights automatically creates relationships between the source table and the unified entity (e.g., the unified customer/profile entity).
