What’s happening?
The installation of the Dynamics 365 Intelligent Order Management portal fails, resulting in error messages indicating that certain entities with specific name mappings were not found in the metadata.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is related to missing entities in the metadata, specifically: - The entity with a name 'adx_sitesetting' with name mapping 'Logical' was not found. - The entity 'msdyn_requirementcompany' with name mapping 'Logical' was also not found.
Resolution:
- Confirm whether the Intelligent Order Management (IOM) solution is already installed before attempting to install the Returns portal. The error may occur if the Returns portal is being installed without IOM being present.
- If the IOM solution is not installed, proceed to install it first.
- If the issue persists after confirming the installation of IOM, raise an internal request with the Product Team to analyze the issue further.
- If a previous mitigation solution was provided for a similar issue, ensure that the same steps are attempted in the current environment.
- If the installation still fails, escalate the case to the Engineering group for further analysis, especially if it is determined to be a flaw in the product without an existing hotfix or workaround.
- Follow up with the engineering team for any updates or additional steps required to resolve the issue.
