What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with the mix and match discount setup, specifically when applying discounts to the least expensive items in a transaction. The discount is not being applied correctly, leading to confusion regarding which items receive the discount.

Reason:
The behavior observed is by design based on the discount setup. The system applies the discount to the least expensive item within the scope of each individual set of items, rather than comparing across multiple sets to find the overall least expensive item.

Resolution:
To configure a mix and match discount where buying 2 articles gets 1 article at a 100% discount:

  1. Go to Retail and navigate to Pricing and Discounts.
  2. Select "Mix and Match Discounts" and click "New" to create a new mix and match discount.
  3. Configure the general settings such as price groups, discount name, priority, and validation.
Define the discount terms:
  1. On the Price/Discount FastTab, set the Calculation Type to "Least Expensive."
  2. Set the Number of Least Expensive Lines to 1.
  3. Set the Percentage Off to 100%.
Add the lines for the discount:
  1. On the Lines FastTab, add a line for each item that is part of the mix and match discount.
  2. Assign a line group to each item.
Configure the multiple occurrence mode:
  1. Set the Multiple Occurrence Mode to "Favor Customer" if the goal is to maximize the discount for the customer.
  2. Alternatively, set it to "Favor Retailer" if the goal is to apply the discount to the least expensive item.
  3. If the discount is not working in the Point of Sale (POS) or eCommerce, use the simulator in the headquarters to test the discount setup. If the discount does not work in the simulator, review the setup/configuration for the discount.
  4. If the simulator works but the issue persists in the POS or eCommerce, execute a full sync of the download jobs and verify it says applied before testing the POS/eCommerce again.
