What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing difficulties in identifying related bots when renewing certificates and secrets for Microsoft Copilot applications. They are unable to view the agents in the Copilot Studio portal despite having the necessary permissions.

Reason:
The app registrations in the Azure Portal are associated with the entire tenant, while the agents in the Copilot Studio environment are specific to individual environments. Microsoft has updated the policy, and users with the Power Platform admin or global admin roles are no longer automatically assigned the system administrator role, which is required to view all copilots within a specific environment.

Resolution:

  • To view the copilots in the environment, users need to manually add their account to the system administrator role.
  • Users can follow the steps outlined in the documentation: Use Entra Privileged Identity in Power Platform admin center to manage high-privileged admin roles - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn.
  • It is important to note that Microsoft Copilot Studio automatically manages app registrations and handles the periodic renewal of certificates. No further action is required to renew these certificates as the system ensures that everything is updated regularly.
  • For specific agents, you can find the related Azure App Registration ID in Settings - Advanced - App ID. To locate an agent using the Azure App Registration, go to Manage - Manifest - Description. The description will include the environment ID and Bot ID.
