What’s happening?
Encountering errors related to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies when attempting to create or edit connections in Power Automate. The error messages indicate that certain connectors are blocked by DLP policies, even when those connectors are not listed under the blocked category.
Reason:
The underlying cause of this is that the connectors being used in Power Automate flows do not belong to the same category as defined by the DLP policies. Specifically, the DLP policies restrict the use of certain connectors together, leading to flow suspension and error messages indicating policy violations.
Resolution:
- Review the DLP policy settings to identify which connectors are being restricted.
- Modify the DLP policy to ensure that the connectors used in the flows are categorized correctly. Connectors must be placed under the same category (either Business or Non-business) to interact with each other.
- For example, ensure that connectors such as Microsoft Dataverse and Office 365 Outlook are categorized appropriately.
- If necessary, update the DLP policy to exclude specific environments from the DLP restrictions to allow the required connectors to function together.
- Monitor the flows after making changes to the DLP policy to confirm that this have been resolved.
If this persists or if there are additional connectors that need to be allowed, further adjustments to the DLP policy may be required.
