What’s happening?
A random URL is being generated that is not part of the website, resulting in 404 messages when accessing any page. This issue is impacting search engine rankings due to improper URL handling.


Reason:
This stems from the out-of-the-box functionality related to the category navigation page, which is generating URLs incorrectly. Additionally, there may be issues with the domain parameter in the robots.txt file and the handling of canonical tags.


Resolution:

  1. Verify if the page is published in the site builder. If not, publish the page to ensure accessibility.
  2. Check for simple typos in the URL, such as misspelled domain names or transposed characters.
  3. Ensure that the default channel/site mapping is correctly configured in the site builder.
  4. Confirm that the domain has been added to the list of allowed domains.
