What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing difficulties when attempting to remove a pickup mode of delivery from the commerce parameters. They receive error messages indicating that the mode cannot be removed due to open sales orders.
 

Reason:
The underlying cause of this is that the mode of delivery is still actively used in existing sales orders, which prevents its removal from the commerce parameters. Additionally, there is no mechanism available to change the pickup type or remove it without affecting existing orders.
 

Resolution:

  • To address this, it is recommended to first remove the pickup mode of delivery from a test environment to confirm that the process works without affecting production.
  • If there are open sales orders using the pickup mode, either invoicing or canceling those orders before creating new delivery methods.
  • Ensure that the process mode of delivery job is executed and the CDX job is run to sync the CSU for eCommerce.
