Applies to Product - Microsoft Copilot Studio
What’s happening?
Customers are experiencing issues with sharing permissions, specifically being unable to share with editor permissions in a collaborative environment.
Reason:
Follow public documentation: Control how agents are shared - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn. The underlying cause of the issue appears to be related to insufficient permissions assigned to users attempting to share. Specifically, the "Environment Maker" security role may not be properly assigned to the users involved in the sharing process.
Resolution:
To resolve this, the following steps should be taken:
- Follow public documentation: Control how agents are shared - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn.
- Ensure that the user attempting to share has the "Environment Maker" security role assigned explicitly.
- Alternatively, assign the "System Administrator" or "System Customizer" roles to the agent creators before attempting to share.
- f the issue persists, gather the following information for further investigation:
- 1. Screenshots of the error encountered when attempting to share with editor permissions.
- 2. Network trace logs captured before and after the issue occurs.
- 3. Metadata information from the affected agent, which can be found under [Copilot Studio] - [Settings] - [Advanced] - [Metadata].
- 4. The Bot ID of the affected agent.
- 5. Confirmation on whether the same issue occurs when the agent owner attempts to share.
