What’s happening?
Batch jobs, specifically the "Data cache refresh batch," are failing or not functioning as expected.


Reason:

  • The "Data cache refresh batch" job may appear to be stuck in an executing state, which is by design. However, if it runs for an extended period and ends in error, it indicates a potential issue.
  • Batch jobs may not work due to a "BatchStartupException" related to maintenance mode.
Resolution:
  • For the "Data cache refresh batch" job:
  • If the job is in a failed state, delete the old "Data cache refresh batch" job.
  • Navigate to System Administration > Setup > Data Parameters > Stop Batch.
  • Click on the relevant system option under the General tab and select "Initialize Batch" to create a new batch job.
  • Ensure that only one "Data cache refresh batch" job is initialized. If there are multiple, cancel or delete the currently running job and initialize another one immediately.
  • For batch jobs not working due to maintenance mode:
  • Disable the maintenance mode to resolve the "BatchStartupException" error.
