What’s happening?
When a user is created in CRM On-Premise 8.2, their login is validated against Active Directory, and their details such as name, email, and title are automatically populated. However, changes made to user accounts in Active Directory are not reflected in CRM, leading to outdated information for existing users.

Reason:
There is no supported method to bulk update multiple users with a synchronization in an on-premises deployment of CRM. Changes in Active Directory do not automatically sync to existing users in CRM.

Resolution:

  • To update the information of a modified user in CRM, the login must be re-entered in CRM. This method works for individual users but is not feasible for bulk updates.
  • Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a way to bulk update users through any user interface options. The only steps to ensure user details are synchronized can be found in the following article: Synchronize User Information with Active Directory.
  • For bulk updates, manual changes will be necessary, as there is no automated process available for this scenario.
