What’s happening?
The customer is experiencing multiple throttling issues and has requested assistance in optimizing indexing on storage.
Reason:
The underlying cause is related to storage consumption, specifically the large size of indexes compared to the data.
Resolution:
- Without index fragmentation large index size is expected.
- If the customer wishes to decrease the index size, it is suggested that a script be developed to manually clean up unwanted indexes. However, this is not recommended as index deletion could negatively affect performance, and the same queries may lead to the re-creation of these indexes.
